The Salty Pineapple is more than just Island Style food—it’s family, tradition, and aloha on a plate. Owner Daysha Filipe grew up in her grandparents’ restaurant, Lanikai Grill, a Hawaiian barbecue spot that first opened its doors in 2006. Surrounded by the flavors of the islands and the spirit of hospitality, she learned from a young age the joy of sharing food and culture with her community.
In 2016, at just 21 years old, Daysha carried that legacy forward by opening The Salty Pineapple—an island-style restaurant that blends Polynesian-inspired flavors with her own creative twist. Today, The Salty Pineapple continues to share “daily aloha” with the Salt Lake Valley through its restaurant, food truck, and catering, serving up bold flavors, quality ingredients, and the spirit of ‘ohana.

The Salty Pineapple was recently featured on the premier episode of Food Network’s newest show, “Big Food Truck Tip” and won first place! The prize of $10,000 is going to be used to upgrade our truck and to open a brick and mortar restaurant featuring all of the great recipes you love at our truck and more!
